We met at an open mic at Soupçon Salon in Lambertville, NJ. This was Math's social and artistic haven since the summer of 2021, and open mics were the place to be on a Friday night. (They still are, but now we have full time jobs!) At the time, Soupçon had the Hibernia Firehouse as a clubhouse, and Math was one of the organizers.

Grant Morrison (drums) brought Sean there for the first time on October 8, 2022, where the two of them played The Wind Cries Mary by Jimi Hendrix, Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay by Otis Redding, and Kissin' My Love by Bill Withers along with a bass player they met that night.

We went to a friend's house down the block after the show, and Sean came to Math's house in Frenchtown the next night to celebrate her sister, Lana's, birthday.

We played many Soupçon Salon open mics, with Math performing spoken word, and Sean playing guitar and singing over the next few months. In the process, we became very connected to one another and to this arts community based in Lambertville, NJ.

So much so, that we're getting married at a Soupçon Salon-organized event, PorchFest 2025!

Math was inspired to start taking electric bass lessons after we moved in together in an apartment in Stockton, NJ, across the street from Canal Music Studios. And she will be joining Sean and Grant onstage to play that Hendrix-Redding-Withers lineup as part of their PorchFest ceremony.
